Online therapy can be a great resource for those who would like to see me but for whom distance, convenience, or accessibility make things tricky. Research shows that online therapy can be very effective, and so it is worth considering if you think it could work for you.
It should be noted that there are some differences when working online as opposed to face-to-face, which are often most obvious in the early stages of therapy, such as the way making an initial connection feels or the way silences feel. For this reason, it can be helpful to meet at least once before moving to online, but this is not essential. If you are in doubt as to whether online therapy could work for you, my suggestion would be to give it a go and see what you think.
